Options

More than one way to go solar.

The best way to go solar can depend on your home, energy use, utility, and goals. We help you understand the options available and find an approach that makes sense for you.

Solar PPA

A PPA offers a way to go solar with a predictable energy rate designed to reduce your energy costs, while the solar provider owns and cares for the system.

Path to Ownership

For those who prefer to own their solar system, available financing options provide another way to go solar, with structured terms that can lead to full ownership.

Solar PPA

Why a PPA can make sense.

For the right home and energy profile, a PPA can offer a practical way to access solar while avoiding many of the financial and ownership responsibilities that come with purchasing a system.

$0 Solar Installation

Go solar without the cost of purchasing or installing the system.

No Loan

No need to take out a loan to purchase the solar system.

No Property Lien*

With a PPA, no lien is placed on your property.

System Care Included

System insurance, maintenance, repairs, monitoring, and ongoing support are handled by the solar provider throughout the agreement.

Energy costs

Your energy costs, side by side.

Utility rates can rise significantly and change beyond the homeowner's control. Solar offers a more predictable way to pay for energy, giving you greater control over your energy costs over time.

Utility Power

Electricity rates are exposed to changing energy markets, rising grid costs, growing electricity demand, and other outside factors that can drive costs higher.

Solar Power

Solar is designed to provide a lower energy cost with predictable pricing, giving you more control over what you pay over time.

How it works

How solar works for your home.

Your home uses the electricity your solar system produces. When your system produces more electricity than your home uses, the excess is sent to the grid and builds credits with your utility company that can be used when needed.

Produce

Your solar system generates electricity from sunlight.

Use

Your home uses the solar energy being produced.

Build Credits

Excess solar production is credited back to your account for future use.

Use Your Credits

Credits can offset electricity used from the grid when solar production is lower, or may be allocated to other eligible electric accounts.

Our process

A coordinated path to solar.

From design and approvals to installation and activation, we coordinate the moving parts, keep you informed, and help make the process clear from start to finish.

  1. Discovery Call

We learn about your property, current energy use, future needs, and goals to determine the right direction for your solar project.

  2. Custom Solar Design

Using your electricity consumption, property conditions, and what we learn during the discovery call, we design a solar system around your current needs, future energy goals, and the home itself.

  3. Site Evaluation

We evaluate the property to confirm site conditions, solar placement, roof or ground-mount requirements, electrical needs, shading, and any qualifying project improvements.

  4. Engineering, Approvals & Installation

We coordinate system engineering, permitting, utility approvals, project improvements, scheduling, and installation from start to finish.

  5. Activation & Ongoing Support

Once final approvals are complete, your system is authorized for activation and begins producing energy, with monitoring and support continuing according to the terms of your solar agreement.

Beyond panels

Solar can do more for your home.

Depending on your project needs, solar may create opportunities to include qualifying improvements like roofing, electrical upgrades, tree work, and more.

Roofing

Aging or unsuitable roofs may be replaced as part of the solar project.

Electrical Upgrades

Outdated or undersized electrical systems may be upgraded when needed for solar installation.

Tree Work

Improve sunlight exposure and solar production through strategic trimming or removal.

Other Project Needs

Additional qualifying improvements may be incorporated when needed for the project.

Available improvements depend on project needs, eligibility, and program guidelines.

Performance

Designed for long-term performance.

Solar production is projected over the life of the system, accounting for the gradual changes in panel performance that naturally occur over time.

Expected Production

Projected energy production is based on the system design, available sunlight, property conditions, and other factors that can influence performance.

Performance Protection

PPA programs include protections designed to help ensure your system performs as expected over time.

Home sale

Selling your home with solar.

Planning to sell? Your solar agreement can transfer with the home, helping make the transition to the new homeowner straightforward.

Transfer the Agreement

PPA agreements are designed to be transferred when the home is sold.

Support Through the Transition

We provide guidance on the transfer process, helping you navigate the solar side of your home sale.
